OTRA’s founders, Isabel Corne and Sven Bols where moved to do something when they saw the persisting degrading working conditions for truck drivers in Europe. They decided to find out how technology and digital tools in particular could improve the industry. That’s how OTRA was born, as a solution to help fleet managers optimise driving and resting times for truck drivers in the most secured and conveniently placed parkings across the busiest European corridors.
The hauling industry is facing many problems, driver and truck parking shortages, lower and lower margins and more laws to follow. We are also convinced that the lack of data is crippling both truck parking operators and Transport companies’ businesses.
We strongly believe that gathering and analysing accurate data will help Parking operators attract more investors to build more parking areas and thus fill the gaps across Europe. Call it a virtuous circle! Likewise, the same lack of data and digitalisation in Transport Companies dents efforts to improve efficiency and therefore bottom lines.
